Curious about the kinds of courses you can expect to see at this year’s Conference & Expo? Here is a highlight of one of the many session options you’ll have to choose from!

Maintain Balance: Don’t Aggravate…De-escalate!

In this session at the 2023 Conference & Expo, Nicholas Bartzen from Bartzen, Rosenlund, Kasten LLC and Michele Trina from Associa Chicagoland will provide insight and recommended best practices to de-escalate!

Sometimes leading a community can feel like an action movie, with explosions all around you. Harsh treatment of others seems to have been an unfortunate side effect of the recent pandemic. While harassment does occur in meeting and election settings, this presentation will focus on situations where harassment rears its ugly head outside of meetings and election cycles. We’re covering the day-to-day encounters that leave owners, managers, and Board Members feeling gut-punched after an unpleasant interaction with another owner or Board Member. Join us as we role play the most common scenarios and cover the dos and don’ts of de-escalation and learn how to create a healthier community environment.
