Patrick T. Costello is a shareholder in the firm of Keay & Costello, P.C. He has been licensed in the State of Illinois and by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois since 1993. He is a member of the Federal Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois, and is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association.

He has served as Legislative Liaison to the Legislative Action Committee of Illinois Chapter of the Community Association Institute (CAI) since September 2012.

Since first joining with David Keay in 1993, Pat has concentrated his practice in the areas of civil and commercial Litigation, and condominium, townhome, homeowner, and community interest association law. In his practice, Pat frequently appears before courts in DuPage County, Kane County, Will County, Kendall County, Lake County and Cook County. As counsel for numerous associations he reviews and amending governing documents and advises boards regarding legislative updates, informing them of new laws enacted by the legislature, case law which would impact upon associations. Further, he has extensive experience in litigation efforts on behalf of associations, including enforcement proceedings, injunctive relief, suits against vendors and developer litigation. Finally, Pat attends meetings of associations in an effort to advise his association clients of the legal ramifications of decisions made by an association or its board. Pat has spoken and lectured at numerous seminars concerning community association law.

Mr. Costello’s practice also concentrates on representing business clients in commercial, industrial, and retail real estate acquisitions, and sales and representation of both landlords and tenants in commercial lease transactions. Additionally, Pat provides representation to numerous small and mid-size businesses as outside general counsel, providing general legal representation in all areas of business including transactional matters, corporate structure and restructure issues, collections, litigation and addressing employment law issues.

Mr. Costello obtained his Juris Doctorate from Northern Illinois University in 1993, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and serving as an Assistant Editor of the Law Review Journal. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is married and has three children.
