The 2025 Legal Forum occurred live via Zoom on May 13th and 20th, 2025. This is the recorded version of both days of that program.

Completion of this program earns 12 continuing education credits for the Illinois CAM license with IDFPR and the CMCA designation with CAMICB. A certificate of completion and credits earned are made available upon completion of all 12 credit hours.

Diving Deep into the Depths of Reserve Studies – DCAL

This course is part of the DCAL (Dedicated Community Association Leader) recognition course series. You may take this course as part of the recognition program, or as an individual course.

Dedicated community association leaders like you are constantly learning more about community management so they can be better prepared for the issues associations face today. If you have a basic knowledge of financial documents but want to dive deep into long term reserve planning, this class is right for you!

After a brief review of budgeting, this session focuses on reserve studies and how they can be a valuable tool for planning for your community's financial future. Our training concludes with a discussion on how to fund long term projects through the use of additional methods such as loans.

Though it is not required, it is recommended to take Understanding Financials: Budgets Reserves & Reports AND Diving Deep into your Budget and Monthly & Year-End Financials prior to taking this class.

Meetings & Elections - DCAL

This course is part of the DCAL (Dedicated Community Association Leader) recognition course series. You may take this course as part of the recognition program, or as an individual course.

The purpose of this course is to explain association board meetings including the types of meetings, the terminology used, meeting requirements, documents needed, format, frequency and logistics. This course includes an explanation of the election of officers to the board and how the election process works and the role of the officers of the board.

Creating a sound board of directors to a community association is one of the key elements in running the association efficiently. This course will instruct on how to stay within guidelines given by the Declarations and Bylaws as well as legislative acts in the state of Illinois.

This course is designed to help board members and homeowners gain an understanding of Association rules and regulations. This course will give attendees an understanding of open meetings and when they are required, basis for enacting rules, hierarchy of declaration, bylaws, and rules, developing, reviewing, adopting, and enforcing rules, communicating rules to owners, creating a handbook, procedures for conducting a rule enforcement hearing, internal and external resources available for enforcing rules, and so much more!
