As the year winds down, it’s common to spend some time looking back at milestones and achievements over the past eleven months and look expectedly towards the possibility and opportunities of the new year.

For CAI Illinois, 2015 was a year of great successes, and it’s due in no small part to the dedicated business partners, associations, board members and volunteers who give their time, energy and expertise to offer learning opportunities and networking events for those in our industry.

While there are many cherished memories and events from this year, the following stick out in my mind the most:

26th Annual Golf Outing

The Golf Outing is always one of our most popular and well-attended events, and we broke records in 2015! 329 of you pulled on your golf shoes and hit the links at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club this past summer. An additional 42 people joined those golfing for Happy Hour and our inaugural beanbag tournament drew nineteen. I’m looking forward to seeing the event grow next year!

Summer Social

Summertime in Chicago is always beautiful, especially when it’s time for the Summer Social. Over 200 CAI Illinois members boarded the Spirit of Chicago for some leisurely conversation and tasty libations — all while taking in the gorgeous cityscape from Lake Michigan.

Our members are among the very best around, and we’re incredibly blessed to have so many of you enthusiastically support our events. Thank you!

24th Annual Excellence Awards and Winter Gala

Celebrating our accomplishments in 2015 is what the Excellence Awards and Winter Gala are all about — and we’ve had a lot to celebrate!

Our Community Association Manager of the Year, Community Association Volunteer Leader of the Year, Olympus Award winners, and Rising Stars contribute their time and talent to CAI and the industry to make communities stronger.  In addition, CAI Illinois was recognized for two national awards: the PCAM Mentoring Program in the Leadership Category and the chapter for “Overall Chapter Excellence”. The Overall Chapter Excellence award is significant; CAI National has recognized high scores in Public Affairs, Membership, Chapter Management & Development, Member Services and Leadership Programming.

As we look forward to 2016, there’s one event that deserves special mention. The CAI IL Condo-HOA Conference & Expo is held each February as the first major event of the calendar year. It brings together business partners, community association professionals and volunteers for two days of educational seminars, legislative updates and trade show experiences.

You won’t want to miss this one! Join us Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27, 2016.

It’s been a pleasure working with each of you over the past year and I look forward to connecting in 2016! Have a safe and happy holiday season and a very happy New Year!
