Kristofer D. Kasten is a principal and founding member of Bartzen Rosenlund Kasten LLC (“BRK”). BRK is a boutique law firm focusing on the representation of community associations. For over a decade, Kris has represented Illinois community associations in all facets of community association life, including transactional, collection, governance, enforcement, and litigation matters. Understanding the client and finding workable solutions to their issues is of utmost importance. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with others; regularly speaking and writing about community association matters. He has been quoted in numerous articles published in CooperatorNews Chicagoland. He has appeared on Chicago Tonight. He has also written many articles published in Common Interest and Condo Lifestyles magazines. With a keen interest in the legislative process, he currently serves as co-chair and legislative liaison of the CAI Illinois Legislative Action Committee. In the past, he has served as the legislative liaison for the Chicago Bar Association Real Property Law Condominium Subcommittee and was member of the ACTHA legislative committee. In those capacities, he has had the privilege of testifying before the committees of both the Illinois House of Representatives and Senate on legislation affecting community associations. Additionally, Kris is a member of the CAI Illinois Chapter Magazine Committee. In 2013, he received the CAI Illinois Chapter’s Rising Star Award. He is also the recipient of the CAI Illinois Chapter’s 2022 Olympus Service Award.
