obtaining your community association manager license in illinois

Obtain your Community Association Manager (CAM) license by completing the following steps.

  1. Complete 20 hours of pre-license education. The M-100 Course satisfies this requirement. This course can be taken on-line or in a classroom setting. (See the CAI-IL Calendar for scheduled classroom dates)
  2. Contact CAM-ICB at 703-970-9330 or [email protected] to register for the CMCA test, which is one of the State-approved licensing examinations. (This test is approved as the State test for Manager Licensing) The CMCA Application can be found in the CMCA Booklet.
  3. For those who would like additional study before taking the test, please check the Illinois Chapters’ Event Calendar to see if the Chapter has a CMCA Review course available.
  4. Once you have passed the CMCA test, complete the IL Community Association Manager Licensing Application and submit it, along with the associated fees, to the Illinois Dept. of Financial & Professional Regulation.
