Golf Committee – coordinates and promotes the Annual Golf Outing including selecting the location, and developing sponsorship and contest opportunities. Responsibilities also include assistance on the day of the event with set up, sponsors and registration.
Homeowners Forum Committee – creates a forum for the homeowner members of CAI to meet and discuss relevant and timely community association topics. The Committee Members may serve as moderators at these events and help answer attendee’s questions.
Magazine Committee – identifies authors and articles of national and local importance in the Chapter’s award winning quarterly magazine, Common Interest. The committee may write articles, edit and proofread the magazine, and decides the format and themes of future issues.
Membership Committee – responsible for finding new ways to recruit members for the Chapter using membership campaigns, drives, and membership orientation and follow-up mailings or surveys. May also require attendance at trade shows.
Membership Directory Committee - responsible for data assembly and proofreadreading of the annual Chapter Membership Directory.
Public Relations Committee – responsible for identification and overall promotion of the Chapter to the public and media, including promotion of Chapter events and services. Writes press releases and looks for media opportunities.
Program Committee – charged with the development and promotion of educational programs, creating new programs related to timely topics in the community association industry, selecting topics, locations, and speakers for CAI educational events. May also require program attendance as moderator.
Trade Show Committee – responsible for selecting the location and theme, developing sponsorships and advertising, recruiting exhibitors and attendees, and planning and staffing of educational sessions, volunteer coordinations as well as overall management & promotion of the event. May also require event attendance.
Radio Show Committee - responsible for planning topic series and arranging for guest speakers and show hosts for weekly 1-hour program.
Social Committee – coordinates and promotes special events for the Chapter. Social activities include holiday party, and other related networking events. May also require attendance at events.
Website Committee – charged with the maintenance, development, promotion and growth of the CAI website.

Nominating & Awards This Committee is always chaired by the immediate past president of the Chapter. Charged with developing awards for the Chapter, nominating recipients of awards, and nominating slate of candidates for annual Board of Directors election.
Illinois Legislative Action This Committee is not governed by the Illinois Chapter, but rather is a Committee of CAI National and adheres to National guidelines. This Committee monitors legislation pertinent to the community association industry and takes a position on such legislation, as well as attempts to influence legislation. This includes local, regional, statewide, and federal legislation. Monitors legislation and helps the Chapter set specific issue priorities. Potential ILAC Committee Members must be recommended to the ILAC Committee by the CAI – Illinois Board of Directors and be accepted by CAI National.
